Welcome to the website of the project “Telemedically Integrated German-Polish Pediatric Cancer Center in the Euroregion Pomerania 2.0” – Implementation and Research of Innovative Technologies.

The aim of the Temicare 2.0 project is to improve the health and psychosocial situation of patients in pediatric oncology in the Euroregion Pomerania through cross-border cooperation between five partner institutions from Greifswald, Szczecin, Kraków, and Gdańsk, as well as through the joint use of innovative technologies.

Innovative Technologies

The Temicare 2.0 project includes the implementation of the following solutions and tools:

• VR technology (virtual reality), used in medical case discussions and education, enabling direct participation in knowledge exchange
• A slide image database that allows the use and exchange of histopathological sample images for diagnostic purposes as well as for training medical personnel
• An online tool based on artificial intelligence for patients and their families, grounded in reliable medical knowledge and designed to answer questions about cancer, treatment, and living during this period
• A learning and educational app for students and medical professionals, enabling the acquisition of specialized knowledge in pediatric oncology

Expertise and Know-how

Temicare 2.0 supports the professional development of medical staff in pediatric oncology in the Euroregion Pomerania. This is achieved through internships at partner institutions as well as workshops and online courses.

The project outcomes include, among others, two scientific publications. The results of Temicare 2.0 will be presented at a final conference.

The Temicare 2.0 project will be carried out from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2027. The total budget amounts to approximately €2.6 million, of which 80% comes from the Interreg VI A Mecklenburg-Vorpommern / Brandenburg / Poland 2021–2027 cooperation program, financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
